Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young Breaks LeBron James' Record During Loss To Brooklyn Nets

Although Atlanta Hawks lost 118-130 to Brooklyn Nets in NBA on Thursday, their point guard Trae Young once again had an impressive game and this time, he even surpassed LeBron James in a National Basketball Association (NBA) record.

The 21-year-old Young's sensational performance saw him clinch 39 points, effect 10 assists and five three-point makes including a superb sequence in the third quarter. If there was one player who dominated thoroughly over the Nets, that was Young as he made way into the record books of the NBA. He beat Los Angeles Lakers' James’ NBA record of 11 games with 30-plus points and 10-plus assists before he turned 22.

Young, who made his professional debut just last year, went into the Hawks-Nets match at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta averaging 28.2 points, 8.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game this season.

Both the teams are not in the top 5 of the Eastern Conference with Hawks in a worse position, 14th on the points table with a 5-17 record, while Nets are placed seventh with a record of 11-10. The leaders in this group are Milwaukee Bucks with a stunning 19-3 record ahead of Celtics' 15-5.

Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers claimed yet another victory as they thrashed Utah Jazz 96-121. Lakers' top two players - James and Anthony Davis - were once again at their top form as they helped their team to 19-3 record for the 2019-20 season.

While James recorded a double-double of 20 points and 12 assists, Davis top-scored with 26 points and six rebounds.

Donovan Mitchell's 29 points and Bojan Bogdanovic's 23 were not good enough for the Jazz, who currently have a record of 12-10, as the Salt Lake City team suffered their third consecutive loss.
